1. What we collect
Account details from your sign-in provider (name, email), the profile and resume information you add, your in-app activity (swipes, applications, matches), and — only if you connect Gmail — read-only access to detect job-related emails (interviews, offers, rejections).
2. How we use it
We use your information to source and rank jobs for you, explain why each one matches, assist with or submit applications at the permission level you set, and track responses. We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell it.
3. AI processing
To match and parse text we send relevant parts of your profile and job listings to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) through their business APIs. Under those terms your content is not used to train their models and is not reviewed by their staff except as needed for abuse monitoring. AI output can be wrong — review anything before it is sent on your behalf.
4. Gmail data
Connecting Gmail is optional. If you do, we request read-only access solely to detect job-search messages (interviews, assessments, offers, rejections). We do not send email on your behalf, store full message bodies beyond what is needed to classify them, or use this data for any other purpose. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access at any time from your Google account or our settings.
5. Cookies & local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as language. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Who we share with
We share data only with the processors needed to run the Service — our hosting and database provider, the AI providers above, and our sign-in provider — and with an employer or job board when you choose to apply. These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.
7. Your rights & choices
You can view and edit your profile, export your data, disconnect Gmail, and delete your account and its data at any time from settings or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data.
8. Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations.
9. Security
Data is stored in a managed database with restricted access and encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and limit access to those who need it.
10. Children
SwipeHire is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version. If changes are significant we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
